Travel Often and Do it in Style!
Hey guys,
I think a lot of us have more than just Frenchies in common. I noticed a lot of you share the love of travel just like Archer’s dad and I. Every year, we try to plan at least three to five trips around the world to explore new places and eat all foods in sight. We feel terrible leaving Archer, every time but, thank God we have an awesome boarder who will look after him when we are away.
For the longest time, I have been using old, ugly luggage. They’ve been hand me downs from my dad, sister or whoever was getting rid of theirs. They’ve always been tacky and heavy. I’ll be honest, for a while I didn’t understand how a piece of luggage would be an investment. However, over the last couple years, as I traveled more, I realized how important it was to find the perfect one. Our luggage carries all things important to us; it’s our closet away from home. Thus, it was about damn time for an upgrade. I spent months researching for a luggage that I liked. I looked at Away, Muji and Samsonite, but none of them checked off all the boxes of what I was looking for. Luckily, through Instagram, I finally found the one: Monos.
I am so happy I came across a new and up-and-coming company called Monos. My favourite part is they are Canadian, Vancouver based (we love supporting Canadian companies)! I ordered the carry on and a bigger carry on in desert taupe. My luggage set arrived just in time for my recent trip to Hawaii and I have nothing but amazing things to say about it. Thus, I wanted to share my honest review and tell you why I love my new luggage set by Monos:
First thing I noticed about my new luggage is how lightweight they are. I love the hard shell. My old luggage had such a heavy frame and it would account for half the weight. It is so nice to be able to pack all my stuff and be underweight!
They have not only the standard carry on, but a BIGGER carry on! This is a life saver for me. I am one of those people that overpack to the max because I can never decide what I want to wear. In the past, I find myself having to check in my bags and pay fees. But with a bigger carry on, it is big enough to fit everything I need. I recently packed for a 10 day trip to Hawaii and still had room leftover (even with my souvenirs); I was amazed!
Quality of Monos is exceptional. The wheels spin and run so smooth and the handle itself is super sturdy. I will admit I looked into getting an Away but the handle turned me off as it felt extremely flimsy and cheap.
They are very well designed! I love that it has a built-in compression pad. This helped with packing and keeping my clothes compact. It has interior pockets and they have great purpose for all your travel needs.
Monos gives you a scruff sponge. It is similar to a Mr. Clean magic eraser. When I came back from Hawaii, I had a couple of scratches but this eraser removed it all and it was like brand new again! Pretty cool stuff!
Monos luggage comes with a laundry bag, two shoe bags, and a leather luggage tag. I no longer will have to use plastic bags. I was so surprised to find these included in the luggage because with other companies, these are always add-ons.
It comes with a lifetime limited warranty. It covers cracks or breaks in the shell, wheels, handles, or telescoping handles that break off or are no longer usable, and if zippers that can no longer be opened or closed. I also found it cool that they offer a 100 day trial. Not a lot of companies would do such a thing. This gives you a chance to test it out yourself to see if you like it.
Overall, I trust the quality and durability of Monos and I can’t wait to continue bringing my luggage with me all over the world for many years to come. I now highly recommend every one who travels, whether for work or pleasure, to invest in a really good piece of luggage, it changes the way you travel and for the better. Archer’s dad and I are already trying to plan our next trip, and our honeymoon next year! We did have one planned to go to Hong Kong and Thailand this month, but it fell through. Sigh! We are now thinking of planning a trip with Archer- perhaps New York or San Francisco? We will need a lot of advice and recommendations from those who travel with their pups. So if you have any, please send them our way!
